HTC, the Taiwan based brand of smart phones is known to provide ultimate touchscreen handsets ever since its origin and has come up with all sort of handsets from hi-tech ones to even low budget ones to meet the requirements of users without compromising on the features and functionalities. The new HTC Wildfire S is even smaller and lighter than the previous low budget handset from the manufacturer. While the screen size is kept intact at 3.2 inches, the resolution power is greatly upgraded to 320x480 pixels as compared to the previous 240x320 pixels, thus producing crispier images than before. It has even quenched the thirst for cameras with a 5 mega pixel rear snapper.

First and foremost, HTC Wildfire S comes with Android 2.3 power unlike the 2.1 platform of its predecessor. It has even come up with faster 600 MHz processing along with better multitasking through 512 MB RAM on board. The phone provides lesser space to store up all your favorite media but has come up with micro SD card expansion up to 32 GB space to provide better storage facilities with the handset. It even comes with cleverer Sense interface with face o mute features, power saving options disabling all features when the battery has less power along with a faster booting system to reduce the boot time of the handset.

HTC Wildfire S even comes with an FM radio for entertainment options. It comes with RDS technology which scans the stations when turned on. The standard music app has been also replaced with HTC's music app but sadly, it does not add any extra functionalities. The handset also lacks music store like other Android handsets but it is available for downloading at the Marketplace. Also there is a slight change owing to the standard Android gallery. It doesn't let you go through the photos listed in 3D walls and provides only a list of albums. Also there's no option to create your own albums or shift photos to other albums. The features have been also minimized owing to the low cost of the handset and whatever features are presented, they are far better than other low budgeted Android phones.

HTC Wildfire S interface comes with two tab buttons at the end for access to Facebook and Flickr displaying the friends by albums without any management or downloading functions but it enables you to share links and add comments. The video functionality is also presented owing to video support but as usual comes with the same limitations. HTC has even replaced the My Apps section with HTC icon showing up the recommended applications at the Android Market but the installed apps can also be accessed through a Menu button. HTC Wildfire S comes with People app which integrates all the contacts from social networks, email accounts and any other added via third party applications. The sense even detects duplicate contact names and provides an option to link various updates realted to the persons in contact list, thus providing an all rounder at low cost.
